Obituary for
Kai Chi Wong
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Kai Chi Wong, 57, an area resident since 1991 and formerly of New York City, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2017 following his long illness with Multiple System Atrophy.
Born in Hong Kong on July 22, 1959, he was the son of Leung and Ngan Wong who immigrated to New York City when Kai was 9 years old. Kai had dedicated his entire career working for IBM in both Brooklyn and Poughkeepsie for 28 years. He was also very involved in the Mid Hudson Chinese Community Association. Kai enjoyed the simple things in life- drinking good wine, eating good food and spending time with good friends.
Kai's kind soul, warm and easy going manner won the heart of his loving wife Virginia (Jung) when they were both attending college at Pratt Institute. Kai and Virginia married on August 11, 1985 in New York City and celebrated 31 years together. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also survived by his daughter, Nicole Wong of New York City; his siblings, Danny Wong, Ken Wong and Barbara Wong Lau; and many nieces and nephews. Kai will be forever remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father and devoted friend.
