Bridie Garvin (nee Steele) passed away peacefully on February 4, 2017 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.

Bridie was born in County Monaghan, Ireland; and was one of 10 children. She emigrated to the United States and settled in the Bronx, where she lived for 36 years. She relocated to Fishkill, NY in 2005 to be closer to her daughters, sons-in-law and beloved grandsons. Her family was her world and she will always be remembered for her dedication to them. She loved to dance, take long walks, and play with her grandchildren. Her absence will be profound.

Bridie is survived by 6 sisters, Kathleen, Maureen, Margie, Nora, Sheila and Teresa; and 3 brothers, Willy, Eugene, and Sean; and their spouses and children. She leaves behind three daughters and a son-in-law: Maureen, Breda, Deb and Ryan. She will also be remembered by seven treasured grandsons: Aidan, Connor, Sean, Thomas, Matthew, Andrew and Robert. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Tom, her grandson Patrick, and her son-in-law Harry.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY on February 10, 2017 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for any donations made to the American Cancer Society in Bridie’s name.
