Obituary for Steve J. Matushak

Steve J. Matushak
Steven J. Matushak, a resident of Arizona since 2013 and formerly of Colorado, died at the Dobson House Hospice Facility in Chandler, AZ on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was 76.
Son of the late Steve and Vera Matushak, he was born in Plainfield, NJ on August 10, 1940. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in Rutgers University, where he participated in the college’s R.O.T.C. program. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army.
Steve had a successful career as a Financial Planner with I.B.M. in the Somers Headquarters facility.
As an avid outdoorsman, Steve lived in the mountains of Colorado where he enjoyed tennis, skiing, hiking, and biking. He was a member of the Breakenridge Health and Racquet Club. Other hobbies included travel, camping, playing the guitar, and most recently he took up pickleball. However, more than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Pam Lynch of Fishkill, Karen Lorusso & her husband Michael of Monroe, CT, and Kristin Schiesser & her husband Jeff of Chalfont, PA; his grandchildren, Carley Lynch, Taylor Lorusso, Nicholas Lorusso, Ally Schiesser, and Samantha Schiesser; and his former wife and friend, Theresa Patrick of Fort Myers, FL.
Calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a memorial service at 12 p.m. sharp on Saturday, December 3 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY.
All friends and family are encouraged to remember Steve by doing something in his memory – whether it’s a hike in the mountains, a walk on the beach, a game of tennis, a cold Margarita, or a tribute of your own design.
