Obituary for Susan Lynn Duncan (Duncan)

FISHKILL - Susan Lynn Duncan, a lifelong resident of Fishkill, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 51.
She was born in Poughkeepsie on May 23, 1965. She attended Fishkill Elementary School and graduated from John Jay High School in 1985. Susan worked for the Gap Distribution Center in Fishkill as well as Frankie’s Superette in Hopewell Junction. She was also a member of the Fishkill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, William Duncan Velez at home in Fishkill; her parents, William and Nancy (Hamm) Duncan of Fishkill; her sister, April Leanne Straus & her husband James of Tigard, OR; her brother, Keith William Duncan & his wife Keri of Highland; her aunts, Martha A. Duncan of Fishkill, Barbara Hamm of Wappingers Falls, and Patricia Darling of Arcadia, FL; several nieces & nephews; also many cousins and other relatives & friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 at Fishkill United Methodist Church, 38 Broad Street, Fishkill. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fishkill United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Frankie’s Superette whose care and support comforted Susan in her final moments.
