Obituary for Kenneth Lawrence Faranda

It is with great sadness that his loving wife of 33 years announces the passing of Kenneth L. Faranda. Ken died peacefully at his home in Millbrook, NY on May 20, 2023.

Ken was born March 24, 1959 in Mount Kisco NY to the late Anthony S. Faranda and Ardis A. (Allbee) Faranda. He graduated from Brewster High School and the Swedish Institute of Massage NYC. He loved learning and had many certificates from various institutions.

Kenny was a fun loving, generous and kind man, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. A great guitarist and lead singer, he was a tremendously talented musician who started several bands, including The Blue Rays, Triple Threat and, most recently, Soul Sacrifice. He loved to share his passion for food with family and friends and had a deep love for animals. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, Giants, and Rangers.

Ken leaves behind his wife Sharyn Faranda of Millbrook; his stepchildren Leanne Blanchette of Sarasota, FL and Jeffrey Carey and his wife Yulia of Lake Oswego, OR; his grandson Mason Blanchette of Brookfield, CT; his sister-in-law, Patricia Faranda of Lake Carmel; his sister Donna Faranda and husband Jan Novick of Poughkeepsie; his sister, Dorothy Bartow and husband Keith of Gaylordsville, CT; brother Andrew Faranda of Brooklyn, and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Kenny was predeceased by his brother, Timothy Faranda of Carmel.

Calling hours will be Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 4 to 8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 9 St. St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the animal rescue of your choice.
