Obituary for Rev. Fr. Anthony Joseph Falsarella
The Reverend Father Anthony Joseph Falsarella, 64, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
He was born on July 2, 1958 in Passaic, NJ. On August 10, 1990, he was ordained into the Greek Orthodox Faith in Astoria, NY. For the past 33 years, Fr. Anthony served at St. Basil Academy in Garrison, NY, where he also held the position of Administrator.
Survivors include his mother Evelyn J. Falsarella, of Carlisle, NY; his brother, Joseph F. (Irene) Falsarella of Sharon Springs, NY; his sister, Mary Louise (Randy) Broadwell of Carlisle, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
Fr. Anthony was predeceased by his father, Frank V. Falsarella, in 2011.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at St. Basil Academy, 79 Saint Basil Road, Garrison, NY. A Divine Liturgy will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at St. Basil’s, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. After the service, a memorial luncheon will be held in the main building. Interment will take place at noon on Thursday, June 1 at Slate Hill Cemetery, 849 Slate Hill Road, Sharon Springs, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Basil Academy orSt. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
