Obituary for Kathleen M. Mastroianni (Klein)

EAST FISHKILL – Kathleen M. Mastroianni, 79, an area resident for over 43 years, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 30, 2022.

Born in the Bronx on December 13, 1942, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Vincent and Annafred (Betz) Klein. She worked as an office manager at Neuville Brothers in Manhattan before working in education and healthcare locally.

On September 1, 1979, she married John A. Mastroianni who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughters, Kathleen Jardine and her husband Jim, Kristine Sloan, Maura Dwan and her husband Timothy, and Jeralyn Mastroianni Eustace and her husband Ned; her grandchildren, Kara, Alex, Sarah, Matthew, Kyle, Connor, Ryan, Liam, Lachlan, and Adeline; and her great-granddaughters, Cadence and Maeve.

Kathy sang with the Welch Chorale in New York in her youth, and her love of all types of music allowed her to easily see the music in others. To those who knew her best, Kathy was a compassionate friend who forged deep connections. Often described as a tough cookie, she appreciated sharing a laugh and was always up for a bit of mischief.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hudson Valley Hospice, especially Javier, Karen, Katie, Alison, and Petal, for their care and compassion, as well as her aid, Janet. Time and circumstance created an incredible bond with all those who helped Kathy.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 10th from 2-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 11th at 11 am at the funeral home followed by entombment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Kathy's memory to Hudson Valley Hospice. Please visit her Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.
