Obituary for Jeffrey L. Leon

Jeffrey L. Leon, a Beacon resident since 1987, died on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 66.
He was born in New York, NY on September 2, 1952. In 1969, Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from service as Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He held many jobs throughout his lifetime, including working as a deliveryman for Fishkill Tire & Auto. Jeff loved watching movies and had a vast collection of DVDs.
Survivors include his son, Jeremy Leon and his wife Cynthia of Charlottesville, VA; his son, Peter Leon and his wife Laura of Quantico, VA; his son, Justus Leon of Standfordville; his daughter, Belinda Leon of Beacon; his daughter, Brianna Bernacchia and her husband James of Beacon; his grandchildren, Jonas Leon, Reagan Leon, James Bernacchia, and Daisy Bernacchia; his mother, Carmen Palleja of St. Louis, MO; his sisters, Julie Leon of Brooklyn and Susie Morales of St. Louis, MO; and his wife, Terry Leon of Stanfordville; as well as many other loving relatives & friends.
Jeff was predeceased by his father, Peter J. Leon, in 1989 and his sister, Joanne A. Santana, in 2009.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Immediately following the visitation, a prayer service will begin at 8 p.m. and the U.S. Marine Corps honor guard will conduct military honors. Inurnment will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 11 at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale.
