Obituary for Reginald H. Gardner

Reginald H. Gardner, 81, a resident of Wappingers Falls and previously of Hopewell Junction and Gardiner, NY, passed on November 21, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on January 23, 1937 in New York City, Reginald was the Son of George and Lucille (Glover) Gardner.

Reginald was an operating Engineer for Local #137 out of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. for over 45 years until his retirement in 2012. He was also the owner of Hopewell Excavation and member of Southern Dutchess Horse and Pony Association, Dutchess County Pistol Association and the NRA. He enjoyed boating, hunting, horseback riding and hosting cookouts for family and friends.

On June 30, 1984 in Gardiner, NY, Reginald married Patricia O’Shea who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Joy Hynes of Kingston, Reginald Gardner Jr. of Kingston, Monique Schaeffer of Kingston and Kimberly Oepen of Lake Wiley, SC; his grandchildren, Gunnar, Brianna, Devon and Shelby; his great grandson Hunter, his siblings, George Gardner, Ellie Gardner, and Jewell Turner; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved animals especially his horse Bear and his dog Breezy. He was predeceased by his sister, Mitzi Turner.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Jct., N.Y. A funeral service will be held that evening at 7pm at the funeral home.
