Obituary for
Barbara Waligunda (Begosh)
Barbara Waligunda, 59, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on March 26, 1959, she was the daughter of Grace and the late Edward Begosh.
Barbara graduated from John Jay High School in 1976 and Dutchess Community College, magna cum laude, in 1978. She was employed by IBM and retired in 2012 from the Global Services Department.
Barbara had a deep love for her family and cherished spending time with them. She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing her gourmet culinary skills with family and friends. Those closest to her will remember her unparalleled organizational skills and her eloquent writing ability. She traveled often and enjoyed making new friends. Her outgoing personality charmed everyone she met. She was a generous and compassionate friend to many. Her recent move helped fuel her new found passion for tai chi, mahjong, and other activities related to her retirement community.
In addition to her beloved, Jeff Qualters, Barbara is survived by her mother, Grace Begosh, of Hopewell Junction; her brother, Paul Begosh, of Marlboro; her cherished nephew, Dalton Begosh, of Malboro; her aunt and uncle, Emily and Bruce Dadurka, of Forty Fort, PA; and many cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, David Waligunda; and her father, Edward Begosh.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 12-3pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a Funeral Service during the calling hours at 2pm.
