Tereze Toplanaj, 86, a resident of Fishkill, died on October 18, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Sallagrazhde, Kosovo on April 23, 1931, she was the daughter of Mark and Palina (Kolaj) Baftijaj. Tereze was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She loved her family and all of her relatives, and enjoyed helping others.

On October 28, 1952 in Jashanice, Kosovo, Tereze married Martin Toplanaj who predeceased her. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Anton and Shpresa Toplanaj of Fishkill, NY, Gjoka and Angellina Toplanaj of Macomb Township, MI, Bete and Frrok Prenaj of Kline, Kosovo, Prena and Lazer Nrecaj of Prishtina, Kosovo, Nete and Dede Jakaj of Verona, Italy, Dila and Geg Gashi of Gettnau, Switzerland, Luljeta and Met Ahmetaj of Solothurn, Switzerland, and Shpresa Toplanaj of Bronxville, NY; her siblings, Prek Baftijaj, Gjon and Mire Baftijaj, Maria Prenka and Roze Berisha; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 3-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Tereze will then be returned to her homeland and buried in the Village of Pogragje, Kosovo.
