Condolences

Condolence From: Boyd Stevenson
Condolence: I guess it really will be "Another Lonely Park Another Sunday". I was part of that team with 32, 65 and 83. I played for Mr. Lynn for 3 years. Goodness. Do you you what though? I always thought of Mr. Lynn long before his death. He imprinted me. Don't you worry Mr. Lynn - I got ya'. Boyd

Condolence From: Brad Anesi
Condolence: A little bit of my youth goes away with Coach Lynn's passing, but I gained so much more from my time spent in his presence. So many boys became better men under his strong-willed guidance. Thanks Coach.

Condolence From: Pam McCrief
Condolence: To Mary and the Lynn family: My heart goes out to all of you. Coach was a special person. Every time you think of him, smile and remember the memories of his endless love. I’ve known Coach since 1964. Coach’s smile was contagious, with a great personality. He taught his RCK players how to be great men, always sharing life’s lessons, along with play your best, practice hard and win. During school and years following, we communicated often, shared lunch, laughter, talking about good times, remembering those who were special to Coach and Mary. Coach will be remembered in my heart, with great fondness. Pam McCrief

Condolence From: Larry Lyle
Condolence: Mr. Lynn was a Coach, Mentor and Educator and a plain Joy for me to be around in High School and as an Adult with children of my own! He will always be a light, an example of integrity and respect. Yes he taught football, How to Win and just as important how to come back from Loss. This however is a loss that we (I)struggle with deeply. There are not enough meaningful words....
Thank God for the opportunity to play on his teams. I thank Coach Lynn for being there for me as my 2nd Dad (smile). Hats off.

Condolence From: Pepper Burruss (Green Bay)
Condolence: Sad yes; but we rejoice in full life lived and the countless lives he touched. Coach was one who inspired me to reach for the stars and make a career of walking a football sideline. (He never quite inspired me to make it to the top of the ropes!). The long departed Coach Ed Davis…RCK basketball…was equally a catalyst. Coach Lynn was one of those figures that seemed larger than life….kinda John Wayne-ish ….chiseled chin….purposeful walk….the only thing missing with the pressed uniform and hat of a NY State Trooper as he roamed the sidelines/gym floor. He was proud of my good fortune of a career in the NFL; but I was equally proud to be included in the night before the game day spaghetti dinner at he & Mary’s home. Who would think to include the manager/student trainer? I wish I could be at the sendoff; but he would turn my shoulders and tell me to do my job. Ah…the memories of days past.

Condolence: Rest in peace Coach Lynn. Your legacy will live on forever. Thanks for being such a huge influence on many of us. The lessons you taught through athletics did not fall on deaf ears.

Condolence From: Skip Rottkamp
Condolence: So sad to hear the passing of Coach Ken Lynn > friend, football coach, Athletic Director, Physical Education teacher, fisherman. The football field at Roy C. Ketcham High School named after him. Ken chased me off HIS football field many times as I prepared for the upcoming baseball season. Ken said many times Mary was a better fly fisherman than he was. Met Mary & Ken many times at I84 Diner. I can see Ken instructing Saint Peter in heaven how to fish. Will miss your calls from Florida in the Winter telling me it was warm, sunny while it was snowing in Wappingers. See you soon Ken!
