Obituary for Ann Tsigonis (Mangiameli)

It is with both sadness and celebration that the family of Ann Tsigonis announces that she peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10th, 2018 at the age of 95.

Ann was born on April 24, 1923 in New York City to Salvatore and Caroline Mangiameli.
She married Anthony Charles Tsigonis in 1948, and they built a house in Valhalla, NY. In the years following, they lived in Hopewell Jct., NY; Morgantown, PA and Hershey, PA.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert Tsigonis and his wife Jean; daughter Anita Malizzi and husband Curt; daughter Diana Ponterio and husband Bert; and foster son, Tommy Miller and wife Monica. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who will all remember her fondly. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Anthony; her granddaughter Sarah Ponterio and her siblings Mike, Matthew, Salvatore, and Florence Mangiameli.

Everyone who knew Ann would tell you that she radiated the love of the Lord to everyone she met. She always wore a smile on her face, her joy evident in all she did. Ann lived a life of faith and service to others. Always putting her family first, she could often be found in the heart of her home, the kitchen, creating Italian meals to feed her large family and everyone else who happened to stop by. Ann was a wonderful homemaker but also a talented tole painter. She established a strong legacy for her children and grandchildren through her faith in Jesus Christ, her love, her wisdom and her artistry. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Viewing will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM with a memorial service following from 4 to 5 PM. A graveside service will occur at St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 9 AM. Please visit Ann’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
