Obituary for Marion Elaine Anderson (Dyroff)

Hopewell Junction – Marion Elaine Anderson, 84, a lifelong area resident, died on April 19, 2018 at her home.

Born on April 8, 1934 in Fishkill, Marion was the daughter of Otto and Caroline (Woelfel) Dyroff.

Marion was a member of Hopewell Hose Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and she enjoyed birdwatching. She was a loving mother and wife and loved camping, traveling and reading.

She met the love of her life, Robert Anderson, in high school and they were married on May 27, 1956 at St. Mary's Church in Fishkill. He predeceased her on May 11, 2012.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael Anderson and his wife Patricia of Wappingers Falls, Karen Anderson and her partner Tracy Knofla of Guilford CT, Richard Anderson and his wife Josephine of Hopewell Junction, and Brian Anderson and his wife Dawn of Colorado Springs, CO; her daughter-in-law, Marilou Asher, spouse of her daughter Lin Anderson who predeceased her in 2014; her grandchildren Robby and his wife Jess, Kelly, Greg, Stephanie, Tiffany, Samantha and Katie Anderson; and her great-granddaughter, Aspen Anderson; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, David and his wife Linda, James, Alice and Barbara Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
