Obituary for Helen A. Dye

Helen A.  Dye
COLD SPRING - Helen Ann Dye, a lifelong Cold Spring resident, died with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at New York Presbyterian – Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor. She was 96.

Daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Ryan) Atkinson, she was born in Cold Spring on November 20, 1921.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Dye; her brother, Jack Atkinson; sister, Alice Atkinson Monroe; son, Jerome “Jerry” Allen; and her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lyons.

She leaves behind two sons, Jack Allen and his wife Louise and Gordon Allen and his wife Barbara, both of Cold Spring; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Helen was a Branch Manager for the Fishkill National Bank and is well remembered as the head waiter at Gus’s Antique Restaurant & Bar for 25 years, when it was located at the Cold Spring waterfront.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 26 at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 24 Fair Street, Cold Spring. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Loretto Church in Helen’s name.
