The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edmond Modugno can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Greg & Dawn Hernandez and Family

Our sincere condolences to the entire Modugno family especially Aunt Pat. Dawn has fond memories of Uncle Eddie growing up that will last a lifetime. I am left with a smile on my face as the last time I saw him he was enjoying a day of baseball watching his great nephew play baseball at Vassar College with his son Christopher and grandsons Christopher Jr. and Patrick. He told me afterward he really enjoyed it. I think this poem is a comforting way of looking at death. Although someone is disappearing to us, they are appearing to others waiting for him. The Sailing Ship What is dying? I am standing on the seashore. A ship sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. He is an object and I stand watching him Till at last he fades from the horizon, And someone at my side says, “He is gone!” Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all; He is just as large in the masts, hull and spars as he was when I saw him, And just as able to bear his load of living freight to its destination. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in him; And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “He is gone”, There are others who are watching him coming, And other voices take up a glad shout, “There he comes” – and that is dying. God Speed Uncle Eddie and we thank you for your service to your country and your city. Greg, Dawn, Matthew, Bradley and Katie Hernandez
