The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thomas Brooks, Sr. can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Richard Ackert
Condolence: To the Brooks Family:

I apologize that this message comes so late. I was unaware of Mr. Brooks’ passing until today. I will always remember him as the Principal with unwavering principles. We had many long conversations over my senior year after he succeeded Mr. Ingrahm. Many of those conversations were philosophical muses about the world, the future, and what any of us could do to affect it. He always ended our times together with a smile, and I could see him slip back into his stern demeanor before the next visitor came in. I knew him to be a gentleman, a great educator, and a much warmer person than most believed him to be. He will be missed greatly. My condolences to your family.

Condolence: Mr. Brooks was the attendance officer, and later, the assistant principal during my high school years.(I always thought of and called him as "Mr. Brooks", even long after I had left high school. He was a man who deserved respect.)
I always thought of him as a good and fair person. When I'd see him in later years, he always had a smile and a good word. I'll miss him.

Condolence From: Ed and Carol Riggins
Condolence: It is with great sadness to learn of Tom's passing, but it is with great fondness that many of us who he touched look back on those times. As principal of Roy C. Ketcham, he "ruled" with kindness, compassion, and sincerity. Many of us will always remember Tom as an easy going and tolerant educator, who was there to help us find the way to becoming responsible adults. Tom not only had his master's degree in education, he was a master in educating. All of those in "Mr. Brooks" immediate and extended public family should be comforted by the fine qualities he possessed as a human being.

With love always,
Ed Riggins and Carol Riggins James

Condolence: Growing up I spent as much time at the Brooks house as I did my own. I feel Like Fran and Tom partially raised us. They were always there right across the street. Since we are Jewish, we celebrated Christmas by going to their house and looking at the tree and hearing the music. They were great, warm people and will be missed.

Condolence: A good and fair man. I was blessed to know him while attending RCK. Someone mentioned both he and Mr. Beverly. Truly they were an effective team....kind, stern, forthright who showed good character and instilled it in others. My sincere condolences to the family. Mr. Brooks is with his maker looking down upon you. God Bless....

Condolence From: David Souers
Condolence: Mr. Brooks and Mr. Beverly were two administrators at RCK that impressed all of us. Always around taking an interest in us. Tough love with a friendly smile.

Wish I had known that Mr. Brooks went to SU and played football. I never missed a home game at SU. Linda (Dass) Souers and I had a great time as students there.

We are all only few degrees of separation. God bless Mr. Brooks for everything he was, did and passed on to others. Our best wishes to his family.

Condolence: The picture of Tom above has that smile he had when he spoke at so many retirement dinners. You knew you were going to be roasted with Tom's famous wit.
He was one of a kind and feel blessed to have been a friend.
