Alfonzo “Al” Serra, 92, a resident of Stormville for 21 years and previously of the Bronx, died on Tuesday November 28, 2017.

Born on December 1, 1924 in Rome, NY, Al was the son of Luigi and Theresa (Simone) Serra.

Al worked as the director of housekeeping for Einstein Hospital in the Bronx for 25 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of East Fishkill Seniors, and he loved oil painting.

On April 27, 1946, Al married Beatrice Cerlona who predeceased him on June 18, 1994.

He is survived by his children, Michael Serra of Old Bridge, NJ and Stephanie Kriehn and her husband Christopher of Stormville; his 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-9 at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Entombment will be in the Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 10am on Saturday.
