Donna Lee Gilman (Tucker)
HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Donna Lee Gilman, 73, an area resident since 1961 and formerly of Randolph,VT, died suddenly on November 25, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Randolph, VT on August 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Laura Mae (Boudro) Tucker. Donna married her high school sweetheart, Glen Gilman, on October 28, 1960. He survives at home. Donna was for many years a monitor at Bethel Christian Academy and a Lunch Aide at Gayhead Elementary School. She was an active member of the Wiccopee Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a District Member. She loved being a part of the Christ Care Group of the Hopewell Reformed Church and the Ladies Bible Study of Bethel Baptist Church. Donna loved shopping for special gifts for people and enjoyed collecting purses. She had a giving spirit and a beautiful smile. Donna loved her three grandchildren, she had a huge role of care giving for them while her daughters worked. She always added sparkle to everyone’s life and made sure everyone was taken care of. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Donna is survived by her husband, Glen Gilman, her daughter, Lori Gilman LaVoie and spouse Richard; her daughter, Lisa Jackson and spouse, Dan; her grandchildren, Jessica and Dustin Moore, Dan Jr. and Rachel Jackson and MaKayla Gilman LaVoie; all from Hopewell Junction. She is survived by her brother, Floyd Tucker and spouse, Wendy of Randolph,VT; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her niece, Michelle Beattie.
A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 12:00 pm at the Mill Creek Catering in Hopewell Junction.
