Obituary for Patricia Elizabeth Beneway

Patricia Elizabeth Beneway
WAPPINGERS FALLS – Patricia Elizabeth Beneway, 76, a resident of Wappingers Falls died on Sunday, November 12, 2017.

Born on November 2, 1941 in the Bronx, Patricia was the daughter of James Christopher and Elizabeth (Hanson) Hagen. On November 22, 1959 at New Hackensack Reformed Church in Wappingers Falls, Patricia married Howard R. Beneway, Jr. who survives at home. Patricia enjoyed playing cards with the kids and being outdoors, whether it was fishing or tending to her flower or vegetable gardens. Mom loved sunrises and sunsets and never missed an opportunity to take a picture. Mom always took the pictures that fill our lives with cherished memories and she never left any doubt as to who and when by writing on the back in her beautiful cursive writing. But most of all mom was proudest of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to tell people about them. Mom had a great sense of humor as evidenced by the many cards sent on birthdays, holidays and special occasions and thankfully she handed that sense of humor down to her children. Mom also always knew what to say to soothe our pains, whether they be from cuts and scrapes or broken hearts.

She is also survived by her children, Howard C. Beneway, Sr. and his wife Karen, Walter Beneway and his wife Lisa and Thomas Beneway and his wife Linda; her grandchildren, Howard Jr. “Buddy”, Melissa, Chelsy, Thomas Jr. “Tucker” and his wife Krysta, and Dale; her great grandchildren, Skyler, Tristen, Aiden and Sophia; her sister, Maureen Gardner. She was very excited about her great grandson, Jameson who is on the way. She was predeceased by her parents; and her siblings, Thomas Bernard Hagen and Lucille Anne Hagen.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment in New Hackensack Cemetery. Please visit Patricia’s Book of Memories at www. mchoulfuneralhome.com.
