Jean M Mercorella (Mercorella)
FISHKILL – Jean M. Mercorella, a Fishkill resident since 2010 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Grand at River Valley Nursing Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 67.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Totoro) Mercorella, she was born in Yonkers on June 11, 1950. She graduated from Charles E. Horton High School in 1968. In her youth, family home was situated across the street from a bocce ball court. Jean took great interest in the game and eventually became a tournament champion. She enjoyed bowling as well.
For many years, she worked for M.I. Hummel Figurines at their White Plains establishment. Most recently, she worked in the billing department at Smith Cairns Ford in Yonkers.
Jean is survived by her brother, Joseph A. Mercorella & his wife Christina of Wappingers Falls; her nephew, Michael J. Mercorella & his wife Crystal of North Carolina; her niece, Stacie Mooradian & her husband John of Marlboro; her step-nephew, Jaimie Stone of Rhode Island; her step-niece, Courtney Schulwolf of Florida; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Dakota, Samantha, Tyler, John Anthony, and Christopher; and many other relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 29 at the funeral home, followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
